ROSAMOND — An election for the post of honorary mayor of Rosamond will be held on June 7, members of the Rosamond Town Council learned last week.
Former Mayor Ed Cole, who chairs the annual contest, said applications for the post will be accepted from April 15 until May 18, the day before a candidates’ forum at the May 19th town council meeting.
Incumbent Honorary Mayor Jed Dyke said he plans to seek re-election to the post, which serves as a liaison between residents and local, county, and state officials.
The mayor also represents Rosamond at events in other communities.
Candidates for the unpaid post must be age 18 and live inside an area bounded by Ave. A on the south, Backus Road on the north, the Edwards Air Force Base boundary on the eats, and 90th Street on the west.
For more information, call Cole at 661.256.3775.
